The Bridge is one of London's best, most comfortable writing studios. Based in Miloco Studios HQ in London SE1, it consists of a large comfortable control room and two booths.
In late 2021, the Miloco Builds team undertook an extensive refurb and acoustic redesign of the studio in preparation for the installation of a Dolby Atmos system. The room now boasts 11 Genelec 8350APM's in a 7.1.4 configuration, flanked by two 12" Augspurger Subs from the studio's stereo rig (which also features Augspurger Solo-12 MF tops). The changes have transformed The Bridge into the perfect referencing environment for Dolby Atmos - as our lead Atmos Engineer Simon Todkill puts it: "What stands out to me about The Bridge is the imaging, its accuracy for object placement is fantastic. I think its a good sized room for Atmos in that regard, spacious enough for the sound to develop but not so much that the room becomes the star".
The Audient ASP8024 Heritage Edition console provides 24 channels with 48 inputs - plenty for a writing session and more than enough channels to mix down onto. A large leather sofa, coffee table and atmospheric Hue lighting completes the room's relaxed and creative vibe.
The Bridge is the perfect studio to start making a record in. We have designed the room to be a creative haven. There is a great selection of mic pre-amps (including API, Neve, and Focusrite), excellent dynamics (from Urei, Empirical Labs, Summit Audio, and Ashly), lots of microphones, a fantastic choice of analogue keyboards, some great backline and plenty of guitars and amps. All recording is done on the Pro Tools HDX rig running Pro Tools 12 or the latest version of Logic. With the included UAD card and brand new Augspurger monitors it also serves as a powerful 'mixing in the box' room.
Clients using The Red Room London (the SSL mixing and writing room next door) can choose to also hire The Bridge as an additional writing space. This makes the studio ideal for larger writing groups or writing camps.
Recent clients have included Adele, Stormzy, Skepta, Rag'n'Bone Man, G-Eazy, Jorja Smith, Jesus & Mary Chain, Florence & The Machine, Jess Glynne, Emeli Sande, Wizkid and many more...
